We recently held ‘An Evening on Everest’ in The Donoughmore Club in Clonmel.
Derek Mahon who climbed, and summitted, Mt Everest in May 2014 spoke about what it felt like to climb the most dangerous mountain in the world to the world’s highest point and enjoy the breathtaking views from “Top of the World”.
He was the only Southern Irish person that year to achieve such a mammoth feat.
It was a fascinating insight into an experience that few will ever achieve.
