We were delighted to host Tackle Your Feelings Workshop in collaboration with Rugby Players Ireland and Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. During the month of August, we hosted three workshops within our Limerick, Clonmel and Dublin Offices.

The aim of the workshop by Rugby Players Ireland was to:

Create a space for people to press pause and reflect on whether they are surviving or thriving

Spark conversation around self-awareness and the marginal gains that can be made every day to optimise enjoyment of life

Offer a practical toolkit to help people take immediate action to boost their mental wellbeing

Our Limerick Tackle Your Feelings Workshop was facilitated by former Munster Rugby Player, Cathal Sheridan. Cathal brought his unique insights as a former professional athlete and a sport psychologist to an interactive round the table discussion. Thank you to the Clayton Hotel Limerick for their hospitality.

Our Clonmel Tackle Your Feelings Workshop was facilitated by Su Carty. Su is a qualified psychiatric nurse with a Masters Degree in psychotherapy and has recently been appointed World Rugby Council Member. Leader in performance and wellbeing in business and sport. Led integration of the Irish Women’s Rugby Football Union into the Irish Rugby Football; first Women’s Rugby Development Manager with World Rugby increasing female participation globally from 4% to 25%.  Thank you to the Clonmel Park Hotel for their hospitality.

Our Dublin Tackle Your Feelings Workshop was facilitated by Kelley Fay. Kelley has been honoured to support a wide range of athletes throughout the years in a wide variety of sport including Professional, Rugby, Olympic, Paralympic, Commonwealth, World Championship, National and Regional and have been involved as a player, coach and referee for too many years to mention! Thank you to the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road for their hospitality.

The feedback from attendees via email, text and conversation after each workshop was inspiring as everyone appreciated the session and time out from their busy schedules to remember we need to look after oneself as well as others.

We would like to thank Cathal, Su and Kelley for their wonderful, honest and positive workshops. Thank you to Christina and Créde from Rugby Players Ireland for all their help in coordinating the workshops. Lastly, thank you to my Metis Ireland colleagues for their help and support in hosting each workshop.

We all know someone who is reaching out for help and hopefully after the workshops people are more aware of their own thoughts.
