Every professional we hire, every person, is committed to helping you to understand your unique financial picture and grasp what you need to do, now and in the long term, to meet your goals. But aside from the expertise they bring with them to work, they’re also pretty great people who see eye-to-eye with us on the things we care about most.

So since we have the pleasure of knowing this side of them, we think it’s only fair that you get to see it too.

This month we are putting the spotlight on Amy, our Private Client Manager. Amy works closely with clients to help structure the right financial plan for them and their families. It’s important to her to be part of one team working in harmony together to build relationships and provide the best outcome for their client.

Over to you, Amy!

Hello Amy, thank you for stepping into the Spotlight today. To kick off, in three words please describe the kind of work you do every day.

Innovative, Diverse and Fulfilling.

And what’s been your proudest moment at Metis Ireland?

Having started working in Metis Ireland at the beginning of a lockdown, I am very proud to see how the work we have done as a team has added so much value to our clients during a time of adversity and uncertainty. Presenting a Metis LifePlan to a client in my first week and visibly seeing the sense of relief and knowing that they would be ok instilled a sense of pride in the job I do.

That’s such a wonderful moment. Let’s get a little personal here: tell us the quote or phrase that goes through life with you.

5 by 5 rule: If it’s not going to matter in 5 years, don’t spend more than 5 minutes being upset about it.

That’s really excellent advice, I think we might pinch that one. Amy, what’s in your Metis LifePlan?

Providing the best life for my daughter and having grown up beside the sea I have always wanted to one day buy my own house with a sea view.

Nothing beats a sea view. Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?

Belmont Race course, New York in June 2015. A horse called America Pharaoh won the American Triple Crown. I was fortunate enough to be amongst a crowd of 120,000 people cheering for the same horse. The energy was indescribable.

What a moment! Now dig deep for a second: who is your hero and why?

My mum for proving that you can run a successful business and have 5 children. And there are so many innovative leaders I admire in Ireland, such as Cathriona Hallahan MD of Microsoft Ireland, who worked her way through the ranks to be a leader in a hugely successful innovative global brand.

Mums truly are superheroes – you included. Finally, if you could give your younger self one piece of advice what would it be?

Surround yourself with positive people who challenge and energise you.

Thank you Amy, it’s been a pleasure getting to know you!

Bye!
