From the very moment MC Matt Cooper called everyone to their seats shortly after 9am, the conference held the attention of the guests. I have to admit that sitting in one seat for an entire day is not my idea of fun, but the line-up of speakers at this event was so good that I didn’t find myself shuffling in the seat!
While each speaker contributed to a great day, there were some highlights. The “From Local to Global” panel discussion had some excellent insights from entrepreneurs Gary Hughes (Teckro), Hugh O’Donnell (MacX3), Fergus Frawley (Kirby Group) and Brigitta Hedin Curtin (Burren Smokehouse).
The Keynote address was delivered by Carl Tannenbaum, Chief Economist, Northern Trust. I spend a lot of time listening to economists but I have to admit I had never come across Carl’s work before. His presentation was superb and up there with the very best economic lectures I have ever attended. We were very lucky that Limerick Chamber of Commerce President, Catherine Duffy of Northern Trust was able to secure Carl as a speaker for the day.
Well done Limerick Chamber for a great day away from the office!
