My pure financial planning journey started 16 months ago when I joined Metis Ireland. I headhunted Metis Ireland as an employer of choice. I had plenty of financial experience, earned a decent salary but I didn’t feel fulfilled in my work. I didn’t enjoy the transactional nature of financial advising in Ireland. I wanted to do more than just talk about pensions or protection products in isolation. I wanted to do more than be a product seller. I wanted to add real value for my clients and their families. There had to be more to this profession? Lifestyle Financial Planning? To do pure Lifestyle Financial Planning that clients love, that will change their lives, you need to learn from those who do it successfully day in, day out and then I found Metis Ireland.

In September, that journey of self-discovery, to challenge the status quo of the financial services industry continued… The Metis Ireland Team headed to the Back2Y conference in Birmingham for a second consecutive year. A day of pure Financial Planning learning!!!

BACK2Y is an ‘Alternative’ Financial Planning Conference that’s about getting back on purpose. It’s about getting back to WHY? No sponsors. No product providers. No free ‘stuff’ (not even a pen!!). No focus on investments or products. JUST PURE ‘LIFESTYLE’ FINANCIAL PLANNING: that’s financial planning with an end in mind. The ‘end’ is helping clients live a great life!

The day was jam packed with speakers, the best UK and International Lifestyle Financial Planners in the industry. They shared their stories, experiences and advice. The motivation of every speaker was their client and on providing the best outcomes for the client, their families, their future and their lives.

Reflecting on BACK2Y, it was a breath of fresh air!!! The opportunity to meet and learn from leading lifestyle financial planners was both inspiring and motivational. It left me full of positive energy, passion and hope for this profession. It reaffirmed what I already knew, Metis Ireland are at the forefront of the Lifestyle Financial Planning revolution in Ireland.

Metis Ireland have been providing pure Lifestyle Financial Planning for several years. We make no secret of the fact that we use cashflow modelling software to project your future needs. It is the foundation on which a Metis LifePlan is built coupled with our financial expertise.

Everyone should have a Lifestyle Financial Plan. Many advisers in Ireland advertise lifestyle financial planning services because it’s a buzz word in the industry but when you pull back the curtains its just the same old transactional financial advice packaged as a Financial Plan. Who does this benefit?  If your adviser isn’t using some form of cashflow modelling to provide you with a lifestyle financial road map, then they aren’t pure lifestyle financial planners (they can’t be).

Our goal is for everyone in Ireland to have a True Lifestyle Financial Plan. A Metis LifePlan will help you find the proper balance in life sooner than you expected. Why not challenge the status quo and get in touch!!!!!
